Gifted and Talented
At Dar Al Marefa, we understand the unique needs of each of our students. Through a variety of opportunities and specially designed programmes, we identify each child’s gifts and nurture the skills and gifts to help them flourish.
We believe that a young mind can only grow if it is challenged and encouraged to push beyond its limits, which is why every lesson taught here enables students to develop their abilities. We provide additional support for gifted children who are working at a significantly higher level than their peers to help cultivate and nourish their talents.
We are committed to offering an inclusive, common Bilingual IB Curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all our students, whatever their needs or abilities. We aim to be a learning community where all people – including those with disabilities or special educational needs – can participate as equal citizens. It is our goal to create a culture of collaboration, in a landscape of mutual respect and equality for all.
All students are given opportunities to be successful learners, to form positive social relationships with peers and to become fully participating members of the learning community.
Dar Al Marefa follows and adheres to all UAE values, provisions, guidelines and expectations found in UAE Federal Law and to meet the goal of being a fully inclusive city by 2020. We follow the Dubai Inclusion Education Policy Framework and provide and monitor special education services to support the individual learning needs of students with a learning need so they can meet the challenges of a bilingual IB curriculum and be exposed to lifetime learning skills.
As an International Baccalaureate Curriculum school, Dar Al Marefa adheres to the philosophy that inclusion is an ongoing process that aims to increase access and engagement in learning for all students by identifying and removing barriers.

We do this by using innovative methods of teaching and giving students the opportunity to experiment during lessons and through competitions, within and outside of school.

At Dar Al Marefa, we go beyond academics. We proudly provide a wealth of opportunity and challenge through a specifically designed Extracurricular Activity Programme, delivered by experts in each field. Based on our existing, successful programme of activities, both during and after school, we offer an extensive range of opportunities to appeal to all interests and talents.
Our outstanding facilities and aspirational staff, inspire students to discover their passion and desire to reach their unique potential, regardless of ability. Our aim is to provide the stimulus that lights the flame in each student and keeps it burning. All students are encouraged to participate widely, selecting their individual programme across several academic subjects, expressive arts, performance arts, language, design, artificial intelligence, robotics, calligraphy, Islamic cultures and sporting activities, all of which are firmly rooted in learning experiences and life skills.
The Extracurricular Activity Programme is also open to serve the surrounding community, creating an integrated and authentic shared learning offer.
The IB Curriculum programme is spread across three terms, enabling students to select a greater variety of activities over the course of the year:
Term 1 – September – December
Term 2 – January – March
Term 3 – April – June
Each of our classes at Dar Al Marefa are limited to 24 students because we believe in giving each child the individual and personalised attention they need to learn more effectively.
Our dedicated teachers provide every student with special attention to cater to their specific and different needs across every stage of their IB Curriculum education. This allows children to engage more with their learning, communicate better and enhances their participation in class activities.
