STUDENT STORIES

My journey at Dar Al Marefa has been one of the most important experiences of my life. Since joining the school, I have grown not only academically, but also personally and socially. Every year has taught me something new, helped me discover my strengths, and encouraged me to become a more confident and responsible person. My school journey has been filled with challenges, achievements, friendships, and unforgettable memories that I will always carry with me.

One of the things I appreciate most about my school is the supportive learning environment. The teachers always encourage students to do their best and push themselves to improve. Through the IB programme, I learned how to think critically, manage my time, and become more independent in my learning. At first, some assignments and projects seemed difficult, especially when balancing different subjects at the same time. However, these challenges helped me become more organized and hardworking. I learned that success does not come easily, but through effort, patience, and determination.

Throughout my years at school, I especially enjoyed subjects that allowed me to be creative and curious. Science experiments, mathematical problem-solving, humanities discussions, and design projects helped me develop a variety of skills. I also enjoyed working on group projects because they taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. By collaborating with classmates, I learned how to share ideas, listen to different opinions, and solve problems together. These experiences helped me become more open-minded and respectful toward others.

Another important part of my school journey has been the friendships I made. School is not only about studying; it is also about building relationships and learning how to work and grow with others. The moments spent laughing with classmates, participating in school activities, and helping each other during difficult times made my experience even more meaningful. In addition, my school journey helped me become more confident in myself. Presentations, class discussions, and projects encouraged me to express my ideas clearly and believe in my abilities. Over time, I became less afraid of making mistakes and more willing to try new things. I realized that mistakes are part of learning and that every challenge is an opportunity to improve. Looking back, I feel proud of how much I have grown during my time at Dar Al Marefa. The school has shaped my character, strengthened my knowledge, and prepared me for the future. Although there were stressful moments, every experience taught me valuable lessons that will help me later in life. My school journey has not only been about academic success, but also about becoming a better, more confident, and more responsible person. I will always be grateful for the memories, lessons, and opportunities that my school has given me.

My journey at Dar Al Marefa Private School started when I joined the school in KG1 in 2013. Looking back, I realize how much I have developed as an IB student, becoming a risk-taker who faces both academic and non-academic challenges with a reflective approach.

One of the most profound memories I have is my graduation from kindergarten to primary school. Wearing the graduation gown at that time made me feel proud, and it is a feeling I still remember to this day.

Since then, I have always focused on finding ways to grow and learn to prepare for the future I dream of, becoming a successful Emirati entrepreneur. This year, I am graduating from Grade 10 and preparing to transition to the Diploma Programme stage. The highlight of this year was working on my Personal Project, where I designed a racing air filter for a quad bike to improve filtration and enhance the bike’s performance during challenging races.

I shared this project with the community during the Personal Project Exhibition. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far, and I look forward to the next milestone in my educational journey: becoming a Diploma Programme student.
